My work represents my frustrations with domestic life specifically the challenges of motherhood. I have always struggled with anxiety which became exacerbated once I became a mother. I have had to learn to deal with my own childhood trauma and upbringing while also raising my children. This can become difficult since I am still learning healthy coping skills and can become easily overwhelmed and overstimulated with all the ups and downs that parenting can bring. By addressing the harsh stigmas society has towards motherhood in my work, I hope to normalize the reality rather than continuing the cycle of these idealized notions of what motherhood is supposed to be in a realistic and often, humorous manner.
